The New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference recognise and respects that your personal information is very important to you. The NZCBC has developed this Privacy Statement to demonstrate our commitment to protecting your privacy and the way we handle personal information, how that information may be used, with whom it may be shared and your choices about such uses in the course of using the New Zealand Catholic Online Directory.

Information We Collect About You

We do not collect personal information about you unless it is reasonably necessary for providing products, services or information to you. We will, where reasonable and practical to do so, collect that information direct from you.

Transaction information and any specific information you give us, such as your name; e-mail address, address, telephone number, the organisation for whom you work (and any products, services or information that interest you).

We use the personal information that we collect for informing you of any coming events that may interest you, to fulfil any order for products or services you place with us, and for statistical and legal purposes.

Use And Disclosure Of The Information We Collect

We will only use your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected and any directly related purpose. We will not disclose your personal information to anyone without your consent, unless required to do so by law or to enforce the website terms of conditions or any other contract we have with you, or where that disclosure is to one of our associates (but only for the purposes collected). To fulfil those purposes, we may provide access to our information technology service providers, our mailing house and our subcontractors.

By giving us your personal information, you are consenting to our using your personal information for the purpose of writing to you to inform you about ourselves, and about our products and services (including by electronic mail). You can tell us at any time that you do not wish to receive any further materials of this nature. If you do, we will stop sending you those materials.

Accessing And Correcting Your Personal Information

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can request access to and correction of the personal information we have collected from you in relation to you as an individual. There are certain grounds on which we may refuse access or correction requests (for example, where such information cannot be readily retrieved). We may charge a fee to cover the costs of meeting your request but any charge we make for providing access will be reasonable.

To protect your privacy and the privacy of others, you accept that we may require you to verify your identity before we can give you access to, or change, your personal information. Written requests for access and/or correction should be made by contacting us at directory@nzcbc.org.nz. Note that we need not provide access to personal information to you in several types of situations, but if we deny access, we will give you reasons for doing so.

We do not accept any responsibility or liability for any information that you divulge to such destinations or how their owners or operators collect, use or disclose such information.

You acknowledge that we are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of any third party (including third parties to whom we are permitted to disclose your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy or any applicable laws).

Cookies
